$245.00

This fantastic specimen is a fossilized mammoth tooth, specifically a section of a molar (cheek tooth).

Fossil Origin: Alaska

Size: Approx. 3.5” x 2.25” x 1”

From the species Mammuthus columbi, more commonly known as a Wooly Mammoth. These creatures were alive during the Pleistocene Epoch, or what we commonly refer to as the Ice Age. Although the most recent Ice Age started about 2.6 Million years ago, these magnificent ice age elephants did not appear until about 300,000 years ago. They prospered in Asia, Europe, and North American and lived alongside early humans until about 10,000 years ago, although some species survived until around 1650 B.C., long after the pyramids were built.
